On 19 September 2025, the Draw The Line: Reset Indonesia Coalition held a long march from Terowongan Kendal to the Presidential Palace in Jakarta, urging the government to take real action in addressing the intertwined climate and democracy crises. The movement, driven by worsening climate impacts; reflected in 3,472 disasters recorded in 2024, rising living costs, and shrinking civic space, voiced four main demands: (1) adopting climate and indigenous peoples’ justice laws that ensure inclusive decision-making and protect environmental defenders; (2) safeguarding civil space and ending criminalization of protesters and activists; (3) addressing economic inequality through progressive taxation and redirecting subsidies from fossil fuels to renewable energy; and (4) realizing a just and clean energy transition aligned with the Paris Agreement to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050. Through creative performances and public participation, the march symbolized growing solidarity for a fair, sustainable, and people-centered future for Indonesia.
